CGBSE, the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) was established in 2001 after the bifurcation of the state from Madhya Pradesh. The CG Board began its operations in 2002 and has been the primary custodian of school level education in the state. As a part of its several responsibilities, the Board conducts annual board exams for high school and higher secondary students.

In the session 2017-18, more than 2.5 lakh students appear in the annual exams of 12th (Higher Secondary) class. The board is likely to declare the 12th class result in the first week of May 2018. The overall success ratio in CGBSE Results 2017 has increased by 2.63% compared to 2016 Results. Girls again beat the boys in terms of the performance with both scoring 79.05% and 73.07%.
