The Chandigarh administration has initiated the recruitment for Clerk and Steno Typist. Total advertised posts for Clerk are 356 while 48 for Steno Typist. The Selection of the personnel for these posts will be done through the Written Test and Typing Test.

The online applications for the clerk recruitment were invited in Sep-Oct 2019. A Large number of applicants have shown interest in recruitment. In the first phase after application submission, the candidates will appear for the written test. The department may conduct a preliminary exam if the board receives more than 50000 applications.

Important Instructions regarding Chd Clerk Admit card

The aspiring candidates, whose applications have been found to be valid will be able to get the Chd Clerk Admit Card online. The Examination authorities will not dispatch the CHD Admn Admit Card/ Hall ticket by post. Thus candidates will have to get the Admit Card online and take a print properly. Chandigarh Clerk Admit Card is to be produced while appearing for the examination. It is essential to carry the online printed Clerk admit card/ Hall Ticket to the examination hall. If one fails to carry the Hall ticket, His/Her entry to the examination Hall will be barred straight away. 

Along with the Clerk Admit Card, candidates are strongly advised to bring a valid Photo Identity Card. Also, a passport size photograph, A copy of Photo ID Card, and in original should be submitted while entering.  

The documents which can be used a Photo ID card have already been mentioned by the Department in the Advertisement. Any of the Photo ID cards from the list can be shown while appearing for the examination.

Paper Pattern and Syllabus

The written test for Clerk and typist will consist of 2 papers. Both papers will get conducted separately.

  • Each paper will consist of 100 questions.
  • Each question will carry 1 mark for the correct answer.
  • The total time for both papers will be 4 hours. (2 hours each).
  • There won’t be any negative marking in the written test.

The medium of the exam will be English only.

FIRST PAPER – MORNING SESSION: 10.00 A.M TO 12.00 NOON

  • English (Upto 12th level): 40 marks
  • General Knowledge: 40 marks
  • Computer Proficiency Test: 20 marks

SECOND PAPER – EVENING SESSION: 02.00 P.M TO 04.00 P.M

  • Mathematics (up to 10th level): 40 marks
  • Statistics (up to 10th level): 30 marks
  • Aptitude (Reasoning Verbal & Non-verbal): 30 marks

Typing Test for Clerks (Qualifying only): Typing Test on Computer for 10 Minutes @ 35 words per minute.

Typing test for Steno: Stenography Test in English at the speed of 80 words per minute (No marks/Weightage) in Stenography and 20 words per minute to transcript the same on a computer
