Have u watched 1st rank raju movie!? In that the hero 1st rank raju goes n asks, how much for a kg of coconut!!! This is the fate of some here.. No thinking capacity..Believing things blindly. They dont even know the difference between sugar coated words n speaking substantiaing with facts..
I know some info came to be false. So only we started substanciating it with facts right! That to info from evaluators who had gone for evaluation..
Its not just one person Whos sharing it.. Most of them r trying to put in effort to collect it, directly from evaluators, prof, relatives, Infact from evaluators entering Kpsc..
Such is the effort being to put collect info. Yet ppl believe those who just tell results due in 5 months. They cant even give the list of subjects pending which they claim to have. Some r followers of them.. Nice right!!!

List can be generated soon as its digital evaluation.. Prob within a day.
          Then cross verification, confirmation.
Then it goes for approval. From secretary, members n all..
So max by 15days from the day of evaluation completion.. It depends on how soon they can get approval.(especially from members)

Pub ad evaluation completed. ( dint disclose when it started or ended)
GS 4 is acting as a drag on the evaluation process as there’s low availability of subject expert. But will be finished soon. Max by next week. ( prob this was the state last time also)
Least preferred optional evaluation is going on. Will be completed by Monday or Tuesday max.
Evaluation process will be completed by next week.
Specifically asked for third evaluation, as some of u had mentioned, dint give much details regarding that. However he did mention that we will have time until next weekend to sort out any issues..
Results Aug end(doubtful). Sept first week most likely..
I again asked abt the dated mentioned previously n also the monthly meeting which was supposed to be held before 22nd. Reply was that they dint expect GS 4 to drag for so long. Almost double the time taken compared to GS 1/2/3.
Believing this info is up to u guys..

Doubtful – history (300 odd). Remaining 700 odd (including history can be completed by Tuesday as theres simultaneous evaluation happening).
So i feel the info can be relied upon…

We, failed candidates are always eager to highlight even silly mistakes of successful candidates, which doesn’t tell much about them but it tells something about you! If you can identify him for his poor grammer then someone else could identify you for insufficient knowledge and character (Bias).

  17. Just sharing some information regarding KPSC essay and kpsc public administration. Last year Rank 15 in kpsc helped me immensely (He had secured rank 5 in 2011 with public administration optional) + I recieved some input from the guy scored 200 in last year kpsc essay (He was bit lucky as he had practiced exact same essays before hand) {My KPSC optional was RD}

    Essay.
1)Language, handwriting and presentation (underlining, clarity of thought, facts and quotes) matter a lot in essay {This is not the main criteria in other papers}.
    2) Essay was corrected by language teachers so he used to ask me to submit my essay to someone who is not preparing for UPSC and get the feedback. (Not sure who evaluates this year’s essay ). So obviously they’ll not be updated with technical jagron.
    3) Certainly selecting unique essay is advantageous provided you are equipped with good content , if not general essay with better content will outscore you. Pick essay in which you have good knowledge.
4)Forceful insertion of diagrams will backfire you, however the deligent usage will fetch you good marks and will be able to fill up more pages.
5)16-17 pages with bad handwriting and grammatical errors will cast a bad remark ,however 16-17 pages with relevant content and good presentation will be appreciated (I did not cross 12 pages)

    Pub Ad.
1)His answers were brilliant and he seemlessly connected paper 1 topic with paper 2, paper 1 topics with paper 1 (such as systems model in criticism of classical writers ) and also ethics in paper 1 and 2(important).
2)For paper2 he used case studies from IIPA journal and ARC reports along with that he tried to do cross cultural (and cross country) comparison.
3)Stating Constitution, Diagrams (both paper 1 and 2) and day to day examples hold very much relevance.
4)If paper is easy don’t worry you’ll get good marks. The evaluation won’t be carried out strictly just because paper was tough (It’ll be good year for Pub Ad students, + Anthropology + usual optionals)
    5) Before changing from pub Ad to RD in kpsc I had contacted DySP he strongly advised me not to change optionals . He said ‘ he had scored less than 30 in UPSC however was able to secure 340+ marks in kpsc ‘( However I did not ask what worked to him).
6)Apart from that few of my friends while in final year gave KPSC with Public Administration optional , despite lack of preparations they made it through mains and fall short of 15-20 marks In Interview (They spoke Highly of PubAd optional, however @Ryan said the success ratio of pub ad wasn’t good )

    GS papers
1)Use of Current Affairs in your answers will not automatically add to marks in KPSC, However using diagrams is plus point.
    2) Don’t leave lot of pages empty as it will give bad impression (in KPSC). Quantity matters
3)I personally felt leaving out few questions won’t make much difference (and I did so because of lack of time management in GS1). But many of them strongly advocated me not to leave any question and they also said sometimes the below average Answer with lot of relevant stuff can get you above average (infact very good ) marks. {But personally after seeing marks distribution I did not feel so).

PS : please if you’re working or able to donate anything , do donate to Kerala and Kodagu. People are in tatters , life and livelihood is lost. Dunno how long will it take to reconstruct.

I totally agree with ur opinion on pub ad. Many aspirants make the same mistake of seeing paper 1 & 2 as different entities..
But u got to answer interlinking both. Otherwise u r bound to get less marks..
But inspite of all that, success ratio both in upsc n Kpsc is very less…
Even though last time in Kpsc 1400 odd ppl took pub ad hardly any made it to the final list…
End of the day making it to final list is all matters…

      • No i couldnt answer all the questions last time..
        Reasons for not qualifying might be;
Sticking to word limit. 1.5 page of answer amounts to 150 words.
No use of diagrams or flow chart.
Left those questions which i had no idea of, without trying… Prob 1 close in each of the GS papers.
No proper prep. Dint knew upsc strategy wont work here..
Optionals was pub ad only last time also.. Scored less in that also..

          Reply
          • No it won’t affect you but I sincerely think it depends on people who evaluate u need an amount of luck there I got a mere 77.75 in Gs 1 paper I had written an answer about karnatakas unification I had covered all dimensions last time and it was the first question I attempted in Gs 1 it was my best answer i got a mere 6/12.5 and for questions which were below average I had got 4 and 5 so the person who evaluates the script also plays a major role for the permutation problem in paper 1 my final answer was wrong though I had indicated various steps still I got 0 few friends of mine who also have got wrong answer for the same problem got 2-2.5 marks . So I do feel you should have a certain amount of luck having said that quality also matters since u have got an awesome score last time I do feel it won’t affect ur chances so much

          • @ryan hmm thanq so much. nw donno y m guilty of leaving 3 questions dat ILO ieft..in gs2 n gs3 n 1 one in each ..ll see bt thanq

          • It was my personal opinion..
My friends had left couple of questions last time. Yet they scored well n cleared.
There r other factors also which matter.
            Dont worry..

    • I wasn’t able to touch many sub questions in Gs 3 e.g. sericulture that worm name was asked which I didn’t know ! Bedoquiline question I didn’t write that well ! Insat question I dint know all the series of satellite ! Such gaps were there in my answers in around 5-6 questions but wrote the questions I knew well

Also I did answer writing nd tests too for gs.. So essay and gs helped me score well…but optional again dint get exceptionally good marks..dont knw may b I need more grip on optional..

It depends like last time I had used a flow chart in essay I got 75/125 for that particular essay . I think it’s always not advisable to use diagrams flowcharts in essay especially in upsc but in KPSC toppers suggest putting maps diagrams flowcharts don’t know if it’s true Or not

          Reply
    • I never use diagrams/maps in essay..
But i have extensively used diagrams in GS 1 & 2..
Maps for all geography questions, except for that 10 agro climatic zone of karnataka..
GS 3 – maps where required ( remember using it for some oil seeds question). Diagrams for few..
GS 4 also used diagramatic presentation for few…
Pub ad i have used quite a few diagrams, flow charts.
Based on what i have heard, evaluators c how ur answer is different n unique from others to award more marks to u than him/her. Also to what extent u have strived to reduce their burden( as diagram can summarize ur answer, answers being legible, etc)
So if u can present ur answers well without a diagram is also Sufficent to score…

    • Comparatively pub ad was easy this time. More than easy, the questions were direct..
But as always ppl find it difficult to score in pub ad.. Hardly few made it to final list last time..
Lets c how it fares this time…

Not sure abt exact wordings.. I guess it was the first or last topic in part A..
Such a sad state of affair, this Kpsc has delayed results for so long that i cant even remember the topic..
Only 3 things i remember, essay on RBI, bang as it hub, role of DC( last question of exam, in pub ad).

Is the case same with Kpsc also!?
@Ryan or others with info; both RBI n poverty essay was evaluated by economy prof!?
How is ur prof in general in awarding marks!?

    • Hey. No I don’t think so . I always decent score in essay in upsc..158 this time too…i feel essay is generally chosen on the lines if you r confident enough of getting content.ramaswamy essay classes I had taken in Delhi… He had told always told us this.. See wats ur strength n choose essay.. Then make a skeleton of it before writing essay.. Lik intro-body-conclusion..so even tho I chose most commonly chosen essays always my score was good enough..not to worry..im sure evry person gives a different perspective to topic they choose..never two essays wil b same.. I hope the same goes wit kpsc… This is my first tryst wit kpsc.. Lol so don’t know Wat it is like here…

      • Basically everyone tells to.chose topic based on ur knowledge n confidence levels.
Actually i have interacted with many who have cleared ias exams. Most of them used to suggest to take unique topics, if confident.. As it will hurt big time Otheriwse..
My score used to be in 170s following the strategy of taking unique topic/s.

        • OK..may be.. But I ve friends into service wit whom I studied together too. N v all got hold of this strategy n it did work. Whr we chose on something whr u feel u ve enough to write in best possible way..only on basis of uniqueness can backfire..my friend got 15th rank upsc. N she did say the same..n othr two ppl in 200s rank..168 was highest if I’m not wrong last time..n evryone from our group got 155 above. One person got 162.. All of us had attended same topics which was chosen by most of d ppl..but each one of wrote so many different views nd points from the other..

          • Basically u cant generalize i guess..
Everyone has their own strategy.. Marks wont depend on topics…
Actually last time my relative got 260 odd ranking. His essay score was 180+..

          • Yeah..i guess..evryone uses own strategies. End Wat matters is how good ur essay has turned out.. 🙂 nd I ve seriously forgotten Wat I even wrote in kpsc papers. Lol.. Like such bad memory I have..i remember topics Wat I chose. But content i don’t remember a word..next month it’s gonna b 9 months..:( n ppl r saying Sept end results..

  24. Actually as per my friends advise I wrote too much on essay of poverty I wrote relevant stuff problems with planning steps taken and to be taken integrated with vision of new and green India so it came to around 21 sides back to back, and does that really harm ?? And Bangalore it I wrote 17 back to back. I wrote relevant stuff but too much dumping of stuff will that really harm ?

    • I don’t think there’s gonna be any harm Cos in Kpsc people tend to deviate from topics still score marks ! If there is proper structure you will get good marks that’s what I feel

        • It depends on lot of factors such as Gs optional score interview marks etc I don’t think optional itself might give an edge I know a guy who was in top 3 Ranks in 2011 batch kas but got 300 in 2014 . So it depends on your performance for example in anthro I know a girl who scored 350 in optional anthro but got a very low marks in Gs and essay combined she got 480 ( 4 Gs paper + essay ) I think we can’t neglect any subject heRe our performance should be average or above average in all the 7 subjects

  27. Someone commented in this forum that 3rd evaluation take place after 2 evaluations and they will finish that and then go for the next I checked with my prof he said after two evaluations they came back and third evaluation is done for 15 percent variation in both evaluation that KPSC staff will get to know after completion of 1st and 2nd valuation so only for such papers So third evaluation is taken up at a later stage at later days but not immediately. So friends still 3rd valuation is pending. It may start after completion of GS-4.

  28. @Vijay.I have not met GS-3 evaluators. I met GS-4 evaluators last week. I said GS-3 is completed on the basis of KPSC news. It’s confirmed twice so don’t worry about GS-3. But I don’t know how many days it takes to finish GS-4.

*As per some sources- evaluation takes 20 more days.. and we can expect result in mid of September month.

I have seen two invites, both for political science, forwarded on Whatsapp.. Both looks genuine..
I can tell by one clue in it. Even though the invite is signed by Mr Krishna bajpai, he wouldnt have checked it.. They wont she time for that..
So someone below him will confirm n counter sign before sending it to him.. He also will held liable for any problems which arises later..
If u have that letter pls check the right hand corner of the designation of Mr KBcontroller.. There is a sign of the person who has confirmed.. Not many know..
There r other things also to tell that its genuine..

  30. @Manoj with due respect to the work u guys r doing,I would say connecting the dots might sometimes go horribly wrong n take us to the destination which doesn’t exist at all….One thing is for sure that evaluation is going on so it has to complete one day n these type of speculations will not help our cause

Dont tell lets wait, i know result will come one day or another..We have waited for close to 8 months..
I totally agree that some info might have gone wrong. But some have come true also..
Dont forget that ppl in top cant do all the work.. It has to be delegated down the line…
Its basically a discussion.. Also take it in a positive note that ur knowledge will improve Atleast in some fronts…

Infact i clearly remember Kannada prof telling that they were asked to do third evaluation for couple of papers..

          • Probable there was no need for a third evaluation in that particular subject i guess..
So Kpsc ppl might have told them that we might call later if required..
Or was it done only for Kannada!!! I dont think so.. One subject one rule.. For another a different one..
