  4. @Geetha or any body can answer. Asking out of curiosity. Where did the evaluation take place? Is it the KPSC building or somewhere else?

In KPSC so many systems will not be there.

    Reply
    • See. It’s not about the place where evaluation process is being done but it’s all about how transparent and efficient will be the process. As the evaluation is computerized, scanned copies can be mailed to anywhere in encrypted form and only authorized people can access it. What I’m going to say is… It doesn’t matter where exactly the evaluation taking place. Efficiency, accountability and transparency lies with KPSC officials, kpsc has to implement all the necessary codes to ensure free and fair evaluation process. Anyways evaluation is almost completed likely to get results by month end or August first week. Stay curious n keep preparing.

      • @geetha ppls answer my question what may be the cut off more or less than last time.. for women…. How are the papers corrected liniently or very strictly……

        Reply
        • Actually it’s difficult to say about the evaluation of papers whether it’s lenient or strict correction. it depends on Various factors like evaluator, scheme provided, mode of evaluation. But sociology papers are corrected neither strict nor lenient. Coming to cut off marks for PT(interview) eligibility, as the ratio increased from 3 to 5 against each post, it can be easily expected that 2 more extra candidates will be added against each post as a result cut off will come down when compared to previous year mode of recruitment. At last, intensity your preparation level, read at least 2 papers( English or Kannada), if English read The Hindu and New Indian Express and for Kannada, Read Prajavani and any other you prefer. Overall one must be good at current happenings. Hope all candidates geared up their preparation. Wish you all good luck.

I have a genuine information that evaluation at the last stage, likely to be completed by next week. Results likely to be announced by August 1st week. Few guys here saying results will be delayed and other guys Saying KAS results given 1st priority. Actually no such priority at KPSC. KPSC has different branches. Different recruitments carried by specified branches. Even KPSC personnel not giving genuine information, few KPSC personnel says results by July 3rd week but evaluation is not completed yet. I’m getting genuine information from my friend whose relative is a evaluator for KAS mains paper(Sociology). His evaluation will be completing by Monday but still minor part of evaluation is pending likely be completed by next week( Thursday or Friday) and tabulation and preparation of eligibility list takes 1-2 weeks. So finally results will be out by July last week or August first week. But remember one thing, remaining stages of the recruitment will be faster. Document verification, Personality test, publication of Provisional Select list will be done in a hurry to complete the KAS 2015 notification faster. Stay hungry for Personality test. Good luck.

  23. Dear friends,
When compared to UPSC, KAS exam is more static rather than analytic or more applied. One has to answer with basics and whatever you read from the prescribed text book. current affairs are not required for each n every answers. It can be used only when the question is more relevant with CA and when we exhausted with knowledge. But at the same time, most of the KPSC evaluators are not bother about current affairs as far as I concerned they need much theoretical representation for any question. Handwriting plays a crucial role when it comes to KPSC not UPSC, handwriting must be legible enough evaluators should understand and he feels it’s average, good or excellent. Those who have written neatly and reproduced the text book points would get good marks than answering with analytical perspective (it only works in case of UPSC). much of current affairs may get awarded with low marks. KPSC is still a decade behind when it’s compared to UPSC but one can score good marks if he written static portion very well with points and figures wherever necessary. Anyways good luck for mains results.

Do u remember there was one question connected to genetically modified crops……
It is more impressive if u explain it with present situation (gm mustard case),and what happened in Bangladesh regarding gm brinjal pros and corns ,
Merits of gm referring golden rice as it is helping in and demerits …. Even forward countries are banning ,bla bla and India’s future in it etc
      Concluding with positivity
Not telling exact question but its a bit I remembered
CA is proof to factual what we mention ,
I agree few questions completely on fact what we read like degree questions !!

Refer Kpsc’ s recent qps , they r following upsc

      • I dunno about kpsc but in UPSC certainly it would have been added advantage. Your comments just reminds me this year’s Prelims paper, where people are digging deep to prove their point. Such is their veracity, they even read research papers(Including me). But alas all that matters is what the board considers it to be right.

I just wanted to know.. what will be the average marks allotted to each question( out of 12.5) if you have written valid points (from std text books) with neat handwriting.

      Thanks.

      • This time marks distributed as 10*1=10 marks and 12q*20=240 marks. Last time my friend got photocopy of answer booklet but of no use as they haven’t shown how marks given. Having said that if one wrote in the way o said would get atleast 7-8 marks per question (out of 12) and 6-7 marks per question (out of 10).

        Reply
        • **10marks*1 q=10 marks
          12 marks*20 q=240 marks..
I mentioned at least you may get even more with a decent answer writing (structure, figures, diagrams etc).. every 1 mark from each question would make a huge difference at the end. 1 mark extra from 21 questions= 21 marks, 21*7 papers= 147 marks.. this is what makes to or out of the list. Do not neglect way of answer writing..

My only question how Karnataka became no 01 corruption state in India…..especially in govt job….

Hard work and skill work becomes more importent then discussion I m agree with it…..

But thinking too innocently is worst then that negitivity….be positive is good, but positiveness is not solution for everything….we have to fight for gaining govt jobs in Karnataka as well as studying, commitment etc….. Take care all

  25. I just gone thorough your comments and what I saw in common is.. there are corrupt practices at the commission and the candidates with enough money will get sleected and others will be kept out of the list. See I thing I want to remind you, I never come across such incidents and I have many friends who have got selected in the 2014 batch. They said we had not offered any such promises from KPSC and just we did our best. So I request do not discuss much on negative side of KPSC but be confident for the next and the final stage of the examination. Note: many candidates had not selected just because they have not performed well at the personality test as they wasted valuable time in discussing activities of KPSC. At the end of the day, performance and replica of marks matters not discussions. I urge again do not waste your valuable time (which never come back).
Remember: few candidates saying there is no comparison between kspc and UPSC. I agreed with this, UPSC is provided with sufficient staff members, they have completely implemented PC HOTA recommendations and finally good evaluators available across nation the UPSC. on the other hand, KPSC lacking sufficient staff members, non-availablity of good evaluators and scarcity of standadars etc. Just imagine if Socialogy lecturer evaluate answerscripts of public administration and political science and international affairs. Evaluators should be experts enough to understand the subject in turn what is candidate actually written in the Question cum Answer Booklets(QCA). This is what lacking at KPSC.
Last say : please be thorough with basics, current issues happening around Karnataka, India and the world. It’s better know yourself very well than any other. Know your strengths, weakness, interest etc. Finally keep preparing if not started yet, start today itself and do not wait for the results, you may not get enough time for preparations after announcement of mains results. Go ahead, think broader, think positive, eat good food, be confident, be healthy, and be motivated 24/7. Let’s DO IT.√√√

One more thing I want to ask u is that ,,
I wrote answers in analytic manner where I substituted plenty of current affairs with bad handwriting will they award marks?
It was my first time and I wanted to fill all answers ,
Many times I cried on my handwriting after this exam

    • I agree with you, people couldn’t select only because of their low mains marks and also performance in interview. I started my interview preparation from 9th since I got group B interview on next month 5th. So asking anyone know about group B interview I mean technical one , is it same as kas interview?

      Reply
      • I attended a Group B technical interview way back in 2012.. it included general questions as well as questions related to my stream of study which was engineering

          • They didn’t exactly ask current affairs.. asked few static questions related to polity of which I managed to answer few.. questions related to my studies and my previous job.. I got 13 out of 15

  26. @Teja it’s quite unfair to compare kas exam with upsc..Kas exam is more like an University exam where u have to remember things n reproduce..whereas Upsc exam is more analytical n conceptual..So one cannot compare a factual examination with a conceptual one…Skill set required to clear these exams differ to a certain extent

    Reply
  27. How can you say clearing upsc mains should always lead kpsc clearance also. The technique used to write answers for upsc n kpsc have differences.

  28. @geeta,

My only question is how Karnataka became no.01 position in corruption, if there is no corruption in interview then why so many Karnataka aspirants cleared UPSC not kpsc, they are not capable of taking responsibility as a kas officer???

I m not thinking negetively but I m accepting money matters in kpsc, if 200 posts announced then 120t0130 posts filled via corruption itself, another 70 posts will filled by knowledged like, determination passion and lucky guys…..

I m attended upsc interview, but I m not cleared kpsc mains itself, my optional KANNADA……sorry to say this in Karnataka money matters more….

  31. Every aspirant keep asking how would be the interview. Pls let me crack this down. First of all its not an interview and it’s the PERSONALITY TEST. There is a huge difference between just an interview and the personality test. Let me share my experience with you. Before attending the personality test,KPSC would release Questionarrire we supposed to fill the respective fields with a genuine information it would contain name, birth place, occupation, hobbies etc you are not supposed to lie at it because the panel may ask anything out of it. For example, if one of your hobbies is playing chess ,Pls know 360 of it, any question may ask. If swimming, what’s butterfly stroke, achievers, bit of history and everything. Moving forward, they asked me why did you given first preference to Tahsildar when other candidates preferred AC and DySP. I answered if I would be the Tahsildar, there will be more contact with the poor, underprivileged, downtrodden people and I wish I could solve their issues at the root level, this is what required in the democratic and populous country. (*One panel in the person, suddenly aksed how will solve the issues at the root level) * I answered (I took about 20 seconds to process my answer) in the way that they appreciated at last, I said I will conduct Revenue adalats at the hobli level so that all the lands will be accountable and the actual tenants will get their rights. Continuing, they asked what is RTC(Rights, Tenancy and Crops) I answered this one in very fair manner because I knew every bit of it. They asked few questions on my Pub Ad optionals answered it. Finally I secured 125 out of 200 marks. I was so confident and did no mistake. This time I just want to prepare much better and appear for the personality test. It’s a life changing stage, if we fail at this stage, we need to start from zero again so it’s advisable to be prepared at best and be ready to face any questions (challenges actually). Most of the time, PT performance based on our practical knowledge and how well you perform if you placed as Gazetted Probationer. Some people in the panel never mind your thoeritical knowledge they just give you challenge and ask you to crack it. If you are so confident and practical enough to get good marks at the personality test. Read newspaper, ask yourself what would you do if you were the officer. Pros and Cons of all. One must be unique among others. So that only marks make your life. Be confident, Be honest, Be open minded, Be Smart at last Work hard. Hope this helps in your preparation. Thank you.

May ask about your opinion on

Karnataka flag, lingayath status, stability of coalition parties in India, loan waiver, new budget needed or not? , sports success in India, recent corruption in banks,

Go through major issues of last 3-4 months. Only major issues.

Will not ask about any policy, amendment etc

Some international topics may ask- last time i was asked about Brexit .

This time- Trump n Kim? What is this about.. trade wars, is China threat?. General questions like this.

Not much on optional subjects. Or general questions that can be easily answered.

General topics like- how to increase manufacturing? Why China successful? How to improve employment

More questions about your work if you have experience.

I am from IT feild. So They asked about what is work from home, advantage n disadvantage, how work happens between countries, how project planned n like wise.

          • @krish sir,
In which language u had interview? if we opt for kannada, do we need to speek in kannada only? or we can use english in between while answering

          • To R,

You can answer in Kannada only or English only Or using both.

You can request them to answer in English if you want. Because most of the time panel members start with Kannada. Later on, they continue with English only.

          • @krish sir, can we switch over btw languages while answering ? Or should we answer in the same language choosen? Please reply

  33. How much I know have shared here. one thing I will say, please everyone don’t leave preparation huge opportunities are awaiting in future, no much time is left start your preparation for interview. Good luck

  34. @krish. some of candidates went to Krishna bajpai sir gave letter itseems to conduct strict evaluation, only if answers are satisfying they are giving marks irrespective of any optional, nothing will happen at this level but once results out. no hope(transparency) in further process.

  35. Dear friends,
Many candidates saying KAS mains results likely to be announced by July month end or August 1st week and interviews to be held in August 3rd week. But the evaluation process is not completed yet as the optionals and GS-4 Papers not evaluated yet. Let us expect evaluation process complete by July mid. It takes at least 15-20 days for tabulation, preparation of 1:5 interview list and approval by the commission members. So results likely in the August month. Hope it complete as the earliest. By the way, kick start your preparation for interview as this time there will be more competition as ratio is 1:5. One can expect marks ranging between 750-950 marks(*just a prediction) and more repetition of marks. So prepare for the worst and hope for the best. One thing I want to say, KAS new notification may not be possible this year. Try to prepare for other exams like CSE(Mains) 2018 scheduled to be held from September 28th(for optional there is 2 week time) Railways, KPSC C group, Banking, SSC etc. Expecting something from KPSC is a disaster. Better don’t wait for the results. It’s a good time.. God favor us in our future endeavors. After all struggles a silver line starts appearing. Go for it.. Good Luck..

    • Yes 1:5 so more people will have chance to face interview, compare to last this time final cut off might go high hope for the best but we should always prepare for the worst because it is kpsc?

      • @Priya I’m also waiting for provisional select list of technical post. It’s been 2 years since I wrote exam. Even turtle is faster than KPSC. I’m waiting for IPSC prelims result, this time paper was tougher than previous one. Still I have given my best. Preparing for mains but not in full fledged. Anyways keep preparing for other exams as well.

  36. One of the insider told me result will be out by next month end. If not Maximum August 1st week. Then interview ( I think no much time). So please start preparation for interview within this year final list.

Please note :- DPR itself don’t know the kas vacancies how can kpsc will release new notification? Don’t just believe what institution people will say but this time in new kas notification ,(DPR people are waiting to get vacancy list from Various department so, they need one month to decide , it won’t come soon i mean new notification) there might not be a AC post because now itself they are filling. for 2 years there won’t be AC post, and 2020 there will be huge openings in state government job much retirement will happen

  38. Dear Aspirants,
I’m also one among you. Having said that KPSC nowadays bit faster than a tutle. But when prasanna Kumar and Subodh Yadav were the Secretary of KPSC , it was like a rabbit. Now entire process coming to a halt. No officials from KPSC, providing genuine information about the status of notifications. Aspirants awaiting from past 3 months for the pending results like KAS mains, ESI/Guard, C group posts and WRD technical posts as well. Few candidates have met RR jannu Sir and Krishna Bajapi sir but achieved nothing out of it. Many times, they say in commission there is no sufficient staff to complete the process in time. Even if we put pressure from Chief Secretary of Karnataka it has not worked. Finally we are clueless. Different answers r giving for the same query, someone said all pending results will be announced by July end and another lady said results will be delayed by 2 months, keep checking website. It will be a headache if we keep checking website for months without any updates. An efficient Secretary is required for kpsc to work in a smooth and timely manner. There is no deadline for a recruitment. Still 2 notifications of 2016 is pending. Recently JANNU sir said KAS mains and FDA SDA 2017 select list will be declared by July end. Need to wait n watch. Most of the times, KPSC officials reply results will be published SHORTLY..

    • Friends,
Ppl in KPSC randomly give their opinion about result. . But we can stick to the statement of Mr.Bhat. Nobody can know better than him about result.. He wouldn’t have made false statement to news paper.. Deadline is August 1 may be..

  41. I guess u guys should stop this debate on language now. We shouldn’t forget that there are a lot of candidates who opted for Kannada as their medium of writing. Y no one talks about them? Language is just a matter of convenience. If u can express urself better in a language, choose it.. it’s as simple as that.. if a person is not good at English but still chooses to write in English, then it’s their choice.. doing few grammatical mistakes and a few spelling mistakes isn’t a big deal.. if someone writes in english which is way beyond the evaluator’s understanding he will score less marks.. if he still manage to score well then it’s ur badluck.. ?

    • Lol! I still don’t understand why there is such a huge hue n cry on this matter .. English is just a language like any other! Someone’s knowledge cannot be judged on how much of English grammar he knows . I’m not lying ,trust me! In Delhi you find hell lot of people who are not so good in English but they have cleared mains ,some have got rank too . I ve seen a girl who used to translate every line of some books into hindi and read them . I was proud of her effort . She s working for defence ministry now ! So chill people . Forget this topic . End of the day the examiner will award marks and he s certainly one amongst the qualified lot . Good luck for results to everyone . Let the deserving people be on list . Let’s spread more positivity on this site . Then we can get more n more positive information . Sorry if me speaking here is considered irrelevant.

Kpsc is corruptive but they can’t instruct all professors to give good marks to horrible language ,, I don’t think soo ,,
