  1. Few commented about me whether I’m working at KPSC. Actually NO. I’m not working at KPSC, But trying to collect the genuine information and the same will be shared amongst us. Let me solve the queries, someone asked can we expect a new KAS NOTIFICATION?? as far as I concerned and checking with officials, there will be no new notification this year. Likely to be notified in early next year.. about 2-3 exams to be conducted which was notified in Dec 2017, Feb 2018 and so. Exams to those notifications likely to be held in October/November month. Having said in my earlier comment, KAS 2015 main results likely to be announced in August 2nd week or even later. Commission has many pending notifications but working on it. Most of the results will be declared by early August month. Many files just lying on secretary’s table. Needs to be cleared those first. Of course, it’s felt disgusting after hearing that date of results getting postponed. Sometimes it takes about 15 days for entire commission approval. Let me share the certain date of publication of 1:5 eligibility list soon after I informed. Thank you!!!

  3. RD evaluation was conducted in most liberal way in the history of KPSC considering the uncertainty, dynamism and toughness of question paper and ever building anxiety among students . Most of RD candidates are likely to clear mains posing a huge set back to other optionals.

They still didn’t conducted December 2017 morarji Desai exam , jto , and another 2018 notification exam after that probably minority, it might take another year for exam and another 2 years for results, if you have any other exams to concentrate on go for it, don’t waste your time in kpsc exams else your career will be spoiled

Or if u have a friend working in govt department.
It will be easy to get a info if ur friend or someone whom u know is working in same dept from which u need info…

  8. Really it’s highly to give exact date on which results going to be published. As of now, evaluation process is completed. But post evaluation process like preparations of 1:5 eligibility list is in progress. Once eligibility is prepared , the same should be secured signatures of all the 13 members of KPSC and secretary. Overall results will be delayed by 10 days. It’s likely to be published in 2nd week of August. I’ll let you know the tentative date of the declaration of results later, coming to yesterday’s meeting, it was just a internal meeting but few lists secured signatures of the members. Few provisional select lists to be published by this week that includes technical posts notification. Candidates on this forum expecting results which will be delayed at least 10 more days. Yesterday’s meeting not decided on results or interview schedule. It’s a part of Monthly meeting. Hold your patience for 10-15 days. Good Luck!!!

  15. My friends relative’s ( who had gone for Kannada compulsory paper evaluation) friend had gone for Kannada optional evaluation. Yesterday he had called him to check how his evaluation had gone n also updated his evaluation experience. These were the things which he told;
    Kannada optional evaluation completed Yest.
They have worked on Sundays also to finish soon.
Evaluation process completed with the completion of Kannada optional.
Supposedly Kannada optional evaluation has gone liberal.. His highest awarded marks was 180+ for 250…
So basically u can expect results still in July last week or Aug first week ( between 30th July to 11th Aug).
Someone had asked abt if my friends relative had given failing marks in Kannada compulsory paper..
No itseems.. Least he had awarded was 53(52.5 is passing marks)
Note: The info what i have received seems reliable.. So shared. Its not some Mann ki baat or some BS.

  16. I can understand how candidates holding their patience and awaiting for the results. But the commission had removed punctuality from its dictionary. We are collecting information on results from various sources but not even a single source seems to be ideal. According to a reliable source, evaluation is completed but post evaluation process is pending. Once 1:5 eligibility list is prepared it has be signed by all the commission members and secretary. Today afternoon there will be a meeting at commission. Likely to be decided on it. Hold your patience for at least a week. Decisions to be made on many issues like faster disposal of the pending results, interview schedule and so on.. things will be winding up in next 7-10 days.. don’t think too much on it. Be Prepared. I’ll get you more information on minutes of meeting later. Few asked me, leaving 1-2 questions doesn’t make much difference, I think attending all the questions with moderate answers helps you to get 2-3 marks extra for each paper. There’s not much difference of marks among successful and unsuccessful candidates. 2 marks extra from each papers make you to the list. It’s not a academic exam, obtaining more marks is a result of answering all the questions (high/moderate quality is not a major factor here), way of presentation (including neatness), legibility, figures and diagrams drawn etc. Best of luck!!!

    • Yeah. It’s very difficult to wait for the results that too with uncertainty. Commission kept saying results will be published by July and or August 1st week or so. But most of the candidates getting anxious about their chances, as 6k candidates will be eliminated and only about 2k candidates likely to qualify for interview round. There are 3 types of candidates mostly commonly seen, first, they attended interview last time and not at all worried about results. Second, as it’s their first attempt, there’s a bit of tension about result but confident. Third, many candidates fall under this category, given their best but not much confident, left 2-5 questions in mains, imagining cut off would come down and will qualify for next stage. After considering set of mind, confidence level, difficulty level of papers, number of posts, performance of all other candidates, number of candidates who are going to be successful are just 2k in number but those who miss out next stage(interview level) are not supposed to be feel depressed or anxious. Civil Services is like a journey. We need to reach final destination by reaching each n evey intermediate stops. So don’t get upset with the results which is likely to be announced in next few days. I have already come across such situations but not given up and never thought of it. It’s time for prepare mentally for next attempt and rectify your previous mistakes and learn from mistakes. So far we waited almost 7 months and still it’s counting. Let us keep calm for next few days and gear up further for preparation. Those who are already preparing I wish them all the very best for final selection and those who waiting for mains results I wish good luck. At last I urge aspirants to keep preparing for civil services whether UPSC or KPSC. UPSC issued a notification to fill up Detailed Application Form (DAF) from successful candidates of UPSC prelims 2018. Repeating again, those who miss out interview by any margin, give your best next time but do not give up your preparation for civil service. God Bless all.. adieu.

    • Geted RD paper by paying notifying amount.
      Just few observations
1)Most of the answers are too general .
2)Looks like filling the paper was a priority than quality of answers.
3)I was expecting much better answers for the marks you obtained.
      4) Diagrams seems liked forced up the throat rather than requisite (some are good)
      5) Answers with some relevance can fetch average marks.

      Positive observations.
      1) Answers are carefully written to make sure examiner doesn’t look at lack of content.
2)You have managed paper 2 better than paper 1.

Regarding sources I want to add few things (which I referred )
Odisha open University Rural development material is a gem (No other book provides with such a great content)
      2) Kurukshetra from past three years + Yojana past three years (only selected issues like rural electrification, planning, sanitation etc )
3)Bangalore University’s book on Rural development (Useful for paper 2 and introductory chapter on Rural development)
4)Shodganga material for relevant topics .
      5) One more book is there I’ll update (which will give you good content on Gandhian principles, etc)

      Special note.
Because of time crunch purchased material from some institute in Dharwad (forgot its name , I’ll update it). Turned out to be terrible investment (7000 rupees). (Seemed like paying 7000 for trash or collection of trashes ) . Abstain from coaching materials.

GS4 god knows how evaluator evaluates with that model answer. Pathetic.

      Thankful for your endeavour.

Agreed, coaching institute notes are not worthy for the price one pay. But a general know-how definitely helps

I’m bit worried of compulsory questions quality. Anukarya and anukarta was a junk answer. In paper 2 compulsory question also the same..so it’s 50 marks at stake. Rest are just above average. What about yours?

        • I wrote vague answer for anusrishti and marusrihti, im satisfied with other answers. I wrote answer to the point without analysing properly,as i couldn’t able to write faster in kannada.(Content wise im satisfied but people are talking about quantity i’m bit worried about that)-im expecting 300 to 320 (attended 16 -25 marks questions and 2 -50 marks questions-25 marks at stake-i may get at max 5-10 marks for anusrishti and marusrisshti) lets hope for the best

          Reply
          • Yeah ,here quantity also matters (unfortunately). I saw people around me writing in big font to fill up more pages and also intelligently leaving spaces between every sentence. One of my friends added little story background to the content for every question to make answer bulkier.

        • I felt Kannada optional questions were bit tough when compared to previous year – Till now i dont have any clue about anusrishti and marusrishti (intentionally they put such questions in compulsory section i guess)

          Reply
          • Yes, Kannada paper was tough comparatively. I heard about geography, pub ad,RD..question pattern is same compared to previous years. In Kannada , I felt nearly 50% questions deviated from conventional pattern. Last year ,all were straight to the point ones. This year case was different , especially compulsory questions.

  31. UPSC strategy will backfire in KPSc.. Fill the pages with average or above quality.. Good handwriting and clear presentation will be appreciated.. Scoring above 350 in optional is must.. Write 5 pages for 25 marks question.. More u write more aspects u cover.. One cannot write story for for 5 pages.. It will be penalised.. Answer needs to be like free flow of water so that valuator understand ur answer clearly.. Subheadings will make valuator job easy even in essay.. Small paragraphs of 4-5 lines.. Give quotes in essay, ethics and optional..if u leave 1queation per paper including optional u will loose 25-35 marks compare to others..

I personally feel answer should be like pakka commercial movie with all flavors and dramabaaz..

    • Thats very true UPSC strategy will backfire here, i.e only quality dosent work in kpsc, in fact in mains there very many people in my class who were discusing about this, i spoke to them just before essay and tried to make then understand that both quanity + quality is needed, but they have written only 4 to maximum 5 pages i.e 3 sheets for essay…… Quantity + Quality is needed for kpsc while upsc good quality answers is more than sufficient

      • Completing essay within 4 to 5 pages is too less considering any exam. It just makes an impression that aspirant doesn’t have much content to write.
Whatever you said is true. But I realised it only after GS papers when I communicated with others. I tried my best with optional , using flow charts, diagrams , writing background of the question, using facts and current affairs (I did that for GS), quotes etc.

PS: I have small handwriting , so my word count in single page goes more than 180-200. If I have to write extra to fill pages I’ll miss 2-3 questions (happened in GS1 + I did not know few questions) along with that evaluator will be pushed to boredom reading too much (never ending saga). Suggest anything ?

  32. @ ramesh patil, thank you for the information.
Guys pls do follow the points mentioned by him for any descriptive exams conducted by Kpsc.
Adding to that, pls dont follow Upsc strategy in Kpsc.. It wont work. Telling out of personal experience.
Try filling pages. Out of 3 pages available, if u fill first page with a diagram then out of two pages left u can write for 200 words.

    • @Soulful did you pass in kannada last time, and how many marks you attempted this time. i attempted for only 120 marks this time so i am tensed. Last time i wrote essay only 1 page and precise last time they had asked for 75 words and i dint notice that and wrote for 100 words, may be thats the reason i failed last time

      • Heyy ramesh patil. I don’t remember exactly for how many marks I attended. My mistake was that I attempted from last section..so I wasted time in trying to translate n all. It took off time.. Dint realise.. They dint let watch so I seriosuly was out of mind tat day.. N then by the time I reached essay n precise writing, I was left wit 20min. So hurry mein I wrote tat ..precise writing I made somehow wi wrote to no. Of Words But no heading. I forgot to give title only.. It was in hurry..

      • @rameshpatil How long were ur answers? Did u fill the pages provided or did u concentrate on quality and not filling pages. Just want to know if quality of the quantity that matters.

        Reply
        • @Ss, i think for kpsc both quality and quantity matters, on average my answers were 2 to 2.5 pages, that is one full sheet(2pages) and half other sheet half page

    • @vijay sure, this year i used diagrams even for gs 1, eg: in history for that ballte of talikota , in introduction i first drew the ancient map of vijaynagar empire and indicated their capital, and shaded the place of battle, very question i have divided into 3 parts, introduction, body and conclusion, every question have given a seperate heading for conclusion, written answers in both paragraph and point format, given facts for eg: in polity articles, in history dates, years and names, etc, in economics data from survey etc, in conclusion for most of questions related it to current affairs of india and state
