  2. “It shud be soon” this was the comment made by former CS of Karnataka 2months ago. .by the time they made ts this comment in twitter ..probably evaluation might have not started at that time. .it seems..

  3. Result will be 20th of this month or maximum 22nd not beyond that kpsc is in pressure to give at this month because final list should be by November end people are working on Sundays it seems let’s wait for another few days.

  4. @priya they are just misguiding /shifting blame from their part. They cannot accomodate 200-250 evaluators at once. Moreover evaluators cannot reject the call without reason (Specified in call letter). Remuneration , They are paying peanuts but evaluators are reporting out of compulsion.

  5. Today I met valuators in KPSC gate they said RD is about to complete most probably in 1 or 2 days. they don’t know about other optionals but they didn’t disclose average score given for RD, Only answer from them is good marks are given for those who written well. At last I asked is there anyone who crossed 180 for that question they smiled and said may be some people got. Hope we got good marks

  6. No it’s not the reason. if any evaluator failed to participate in the evaluation a notice will be sent to the concerned dept. and the strict action will be taken against him if there is no genuine reason.

  8. Now I got genuine ifo!!
The problem is evaluators are not coming in expected no., they said that in place of 200 to 250 evaluators only 30 to 35 members r reporting , so the delay
Now it is in last stage we r working hard ,still need 15 to 30 days!!!

    • Don’t know but
Kannada profs are mostly biased towards Kannada litt.. It’s true in kpsc and UPSC both.. Kannada average marks will be at least 50marks more than any optional on the earth..

          • Hey. My anthro was good. Performed well. Upsc anthro I had got 230 in 2016. Cudnt clear mains. As I fell short by 16 marks. 2017 dint clear prelims. But was working on anthro to improve my score. So that kinda helped. Don’t knw y I’m not getting good vibes wit anthro in kpsc..:( I did attend questions which I was confident. Wit diagrams nd flowcharts wen needed. Lets see. Ur optional too anthro is it!???

          • yes my optional was anthro too yes last time i had got 292.5 i had prepared for just 15 days and wrote the exam this time its a much better preparation wrote paper 1 well with examples of tribes in universal definition of marriage and also law and justice in simple societies . theories of organic evolution was okay managed to write the concepts okish. neanderthal man was ok and the race question was also okish . diffussion was good and cultural and personality trends ( stressed on benedict mead cora du bois ralph linton ) functionalism question guess didnt do that well paper 2 was good last time i had a very bad score in paper 2 (136) hoping it cross 160 this time

          • Okiee. That’s good. Me too tried given some case studies of tribes I had read about here n thr when it had relevance. 296 wow. Tats good. My friend got 310 in anthro nd he got a good rank n railway traffic service. 🙂 really hoping to cross 300 in kpsc..tried givin my best. Beyond this I don’t knw.

          • I dint want to study an all new subject again for kpsc. So continued with anthro fr this exam too. Hope i don’t regret that decision.

          • in kpsc people have scored around 340-380 i have friends one has got 340 another person has got 370 so in kpsc i feel you can easily get 320-340 in anthro if you fill 8 pages for 50 markers with proper content and fill all the pages in 25 markers with relevant content

          • Honestly I don’t remember Wat questions I have attempted also. All I remember was I used I attended two thoughts nd gva the evolutionary stages in flow chart form like thr techno, religion, marriage in each of stage somethin of tat sort. Then I did write some diagrams but don’t knw Wat questions.

          • Oh wow is it!? That’s great man. Hopefully then. Paper was on expected lines. Wasn’t really like most unexpected questions came. It ws straight forward. But the problem was to drag stuffs nd write for few questions whr thr ws not enough content. That happend for me I paper 1.. Paper 2 we can go on nd write.

    • Is it 270?? I don’t think so… Yeah its true that many were from Kannada. Though liberal marks were provided in Kannada, Large number of selections is only due to number of students opting for it. Last year Public administration( Success ratio) and Rural development performed well.

In UPSC ,Bias towards regional language is there in all states not just Karnataka. However last year Kannada optional did not perform as expected.

I have done well in my optional RD and completed both the essays. Each essay around 15- 16 pages in a systematic manner. Plz anyone suggest me where do I stand as this was my first mains….

      • yes i completely agree with u nick it will be usually the same i dont think there will be much difference good quality content will fetch you around 8 to 10 marks . Merely attend questions will fetch you 2 to 4 marks depending on the evaluator ( last time i got 10 for one answer guess the evaluator was liberal and another question i got 0 for attending the permutation problem( final answer was wrong). i also got 1 mark for attending in history and 1.5 also in the history section .finally it depends on evaluator

  12. kpsc bolimaklige met tagondu hodiri especially to that secretary. They are conducting exams for the notifications that were released in february in september last week. earlier it used to be 2.5 months after closing date of notification. kpsc is back to its usual oldways of lethargy.

they conduct exams and forget that that they conducted it actually and start evaluating those omrs only when candidates remind them. pathetic.

mains evaluation is still pending. KPSC should write letters to the evaluators the day they release gazetted probationars notification and get them ready before hand for evaluating papers.

N theres no plan to schedule any meeting before 15th..
      So no results before 15th…
But u can expect before 25th, if everything goes well…

      Reply
    • My source told these things; Evaluation work is there beyond 5th.
On 6th also they have scheduled evaluation of some optionals (He dint tell me which one). That will be the last. As no new invites r being done.
Moreover they have no plans of scheduling meeting before 15th. Expected date of meeting is Sat(18th)..
So i strongly feel what Ryan’s professor told was true. Its Anthro only. N Thats the last paper to be evaluated..
Working that out, if they have scheduled evaluation for 5-6 Days, also considering that they r working on Sundays n holidays also i feel the list will be ready by Sat for approval..
Lets wait. I will try getting exact dates in due course of time…

      Reply
  15. Anthro evaluation to start from 6th. Not sure of the ending date..
Other optionals evaluation completed. Anthro to be the last…
They r contemplating to arrange for monthly meeting on 18th (not confirmed yet), to get approval of members for the list. Might go to next week also.. Interview schedule might get confirmed in that meeting itself.
But results expected to be within 25th..
Info from a reliable source. Not evaluators.. So its upto u guys to believe.
But working the info from evaluators i have got n others have shared, the info i have received seems to he workable…

    • It’s difficult to speculate regarding the next notification without DPAR getting any intimation on that matter. Moreover if SamBhat is retiring in November he’ll avoid getting involved in such circumstances.

    • 7/12/2018 is the exact date when the Chairman of KPSC retires, Age : 62years gets completed, hence he will complete the process before he goes, if we analyze: 15 days for document verification + 2 months for Interview, and if result is announced tomorrow then to announce final list it will take October last week, so if he releases mains result in october then during the term of chairman they cant announce final list…..according to me they will give the final provisional list in mid to end Nov, and in that case the mains result has to come in August before 20th. This is what I feel..

      Reply
      • Arey , is it mandatory for this guy to finish before he leaves ?? There were instances when that post was lying vacant for months ! You seriously think he s held responsible for not finishing this recruitment process completely ?? If he s held responsible, then things will happen like you ve told ,otherwise he ll happily retire ! Not bothering about us. Like he s doing now

        Reply
        • @Sonu Yeah you are right, but even in 2011 the ex chairman Gonal Bhimappa went ahead with the interview even though there was election code of conduct to finish the process because he was retiring, but after 3 or 4 days the interview started they had to again stop due to election comm order i think, and he retired before completing the process,,,, so chairman in the past has tried to hurry up the process to finish interview in their term…..i was just thinking if that urgency may crop up again.

          Reply
          • But whatever they do, i just hope the interview process is transparent and there should be no place for favouritism, etc

      • Realistically it’s his(Sam Bhat’s) only chance to get big bounty before retiring. No one wants to gift freebies to his successor without any selfish motive. Probably he’ll hasten the process or if it is already maligned he might just shift the responsibility.

PS: However despite many people claiming exorbitant rate of corruption in KAS , I have come across many selected candidates who haven’t bribed anyone (Trustable sources).

        Reply
        • True Ppl simply talk of corruption and spreads rumours.. Those who are confident of mains start preparing for interview.. Many of my friends has got 160+ in interviews without any influence or anything.. Don’t waste tym

      • @ramesh : Mr Bhat will retire December 31st,, 100pc final list will be before that.. I personally feel Mid August will be mains results, interview starts from mid September and ends in October last week.. Results in mid November.. Bhat will happily retire in December..

        Reply
    • @Fakerappa, definately not, i dint mean that, i was being very pessimistic there, I meant to say that since the Chairman will retire this year, before that he will make sure that this process is over

    • Dude forget abt the info we can get.
Lets go by logic n inferring from concrete info we have.
Many have confirmed that the Economics prof is going for evaluation until 5th of Aug starting from 25th July.. So RD evaluation in going on.
Ryan will have to confirm by this week abt Anthro evaluation. If the prof he knows gets invite letter, Anthro is still pending. Also we will get to know when evaluation gets over, as other optionals evaluation is over.
Or else if they dont get any invite evaluation will get over on 5th of Aug…

What ever info we have received previously is false. That Rd got completed.. As this time the info is from evaluators…

          • true the earlier information might be false i can speak only about rd and anthro as i know the people who are associated with the evaluation process i cant speak about other optionals i hope they are also completed !!

  34. @Rakshas; I dont think neither CM nor his officials would have bothered abt assurances or requests placed during that show.
These ppl working in Kpsc r big time liars i feel (not referring to those who work honestly). They lied in rti reply. They lie that result will be in May even when the evaluation itself hasn’t been started.
They even lie big time even to their friends working in other departments.
Not sure what they did until May mid to start evaluation.
Its more than 2 since evaluation started. Doesnt look like they gonna complete within 3 months since they started evaluation…
Now i am feeling that the only reliable source of info is from evaluators…
Even now i tried contacting to get info abt the status. Also confronted them abt RD evaluation which is stretching until 5th. N also abt other optional evaluation, if any. They r not ready reveal the exact status. They still claim that they r striving to release the results before Independence day…

    • Also it doesnt look like they r rushing. Its close to 2.5 month since actual evaluation started. Yet they r not able to complete.
Only thing which looks like they r rushing is that evaluation process is happening on all 7 days of the week..

How many evaluators evaluated kannday optional.

        • I dont have in detail info like how many evaluators, how many papers per day n other such info. But supposedly they have made sufficient arrangement of evaluators..
I totally agree with u. Not every one will have details of the status of evaluation n all…

      • Geetha had explained in detail abt the post evaluation work. It all depends on how quick they can get the list signed from members.
        Results wont go fir Sept..
If its only Rd then before independence.
If anthro also pending, like Ryan predicted, then prob 3rd or 4th week of Aug.
Also geography optionals evaluated. Got info from a friend Whos professor had gone for evaluation. No details how evaluation went thru or when it happened..

  36. there is no discrimination between different optional subjects in kpsc. I got 189 in history optional paper1. unlike upsc, optional is not a deciding factor here… people scored more marks in gs papers.. like 170s, 180s in gs papers.. much below their optional scores! one guy scored 220 in ethics.. dont know who checked his paper.. along with good content n handwriting ..things like underlining, rhetorical presentation..flowery english works wonder.. you just showoff that you know far better than the one who checks your paper… i meant we cannot expect that expertise and awareness of current issues from kpsc evaluators. but this will backfire in upsc for sure

    • @ Prajwal.Haha just remember if it is liberal correction it will be liberal for everyone.. So ur position in marks list will not change..
There will be nothing called liberal valuation..

R those evaluators gone for evaluation now?
    Or
Have they got any invite for evaluation for a later date!?

  40. @SS, even though i am from public admin optional i dont know how its evaluation has gone. All i can tell is pub ad paper was comparatively easy as most of tte questions were direct. Atleast Thats what i felt.
Kannada language n Kannada optionals was supposedly evaluated liberally. Thats what info i received. They would have told based on how they evaluated n discussion with close group.
But u need to keep in mind the point mentioned by Gopi. All papers r evaluated twice, if required thrice by different evaluators. Also Kpsc wont instruct evaluators to correct liberally or tough.
Again its left to individual evaluators.
So u never know the exact status…

Mr Krishna bajpai tweeted some couple of months back. After that completely inactive
Chief secretary is active for now. U can tweet him on Office of CS (@chiefsecka).
But No use tweeting them. They give u standard answers. Its not like during the time of Mr yadav or Mr prasanna kumar , where they used to have weekly interactions.
I suggest you to wait until Aug 11th.. Result is expected by then…

      • With all due respect to the information u have shared, Its highly unlikely that ur info is true.
Couple of sources have confirmed that the evaluation is completed.
Kannada literature is the most sought after optionals. They took only 7 days to complete that (From July 17th to Aug 23rd).
Just in case ur info is true, so many days to evaluate economics is highly unlikely.

    • @Vijay – Is it true that RD and Kannada were evaluated liberally since they the papers were a bit tough? Many people are telling this. And Pub Ad was evaluated tough it seems.. Do you have any info? Pardon my ignorance. I have no reliable link to confirm.

      Reply
      • Nothing Lyk that.. Nobody decides about toughness of paper in kpsc. . It’s purely subjective.. Nobody even instructs anybody to give freely marks.. All there are accountable and are being monitored.. Few fellows just spread rumors to console and feel comfortable by creating an illusion around themselves and expecting some miracle to happen in evaluation.. Each paper is evaluated minimum twice.. Nobody can escape..

          • Very true..
Many have got 390+ in Kannada literature last time.
Also pretty good score in RD..
Also many from list are from Kannada literature n RD optionals.
Dont know to go by the theory that, these two optionals r most sought after so many clear
Or these two optionals r high scoring..

          • @Nick : It’s not about lenient correction..All optional are corrected at same standard.. Kannada is a static subject unlike pubad and Socio where u have to add many current affairs.. So Kannada litt is comparatively manageable.. KPSC optional mains question paper will be easy and not that analytical or use your brain unlike UPSC questions..People from Kannada litt really write well as Kannada is their mother tongue and they can express nicely unlike others who write in English language.. Also there is no scaling in KPSC..
U can note that average marks for any optional for average answer itself is 290-330 in kpsc.. So toppers will get 380+.. I had scored 175in in my optional P1 with average quality in last mains..

So no surprise if one gets 400+ in optional
