    Your reason is totally illogical.
Please use some logic and knowledge.
    ——————————————————–

    Let me explain.
Statement : Dhoni is Indian Captain.

    Now consider this :
    Dhoni is also
    Batsmen
    Wicket keeper
    Record stumper
Bowler (He has bowled in few matches)
    Fast runner
    Most fit player

    ———————————————————-
QUESTION: Dhoni is a record stumper and fit player.
Answer : yes or no ?

    ———————————————————–
According to your logic, the answer to this question would be
    ‘NO’.
    Because according to you,
    Dhoni is just Indian captain.
Record stumper and fit player is just application of Dhoni.

I hope you understand at least after this.

    ————————————————————–
    The correct answer is Actually
    ‘YES’
Because he is also record stumper and fit player and not just Indian Captain.

    —————————————————————–
    Similarly,
    Cartosat is also:
    Observation satellie
    Mapping satellite
    .
    .
    etc.,

    Hence,
Cartosat is also a Mapping satellite.

    • Please raise objection to the new answer key published today.
Each and every mark is important.
Hundred of candidates qualify or dont qualify with slight difference of even 0.5 marks.
So you will have disadvantage of 2.5 marks.

Your answer would have been correct if they had asked like this :
Cartosat is ONLY Earth mapping satellite.

But, there is no exclusivity ‘ONLY’ here in this question………..
      Understood ??????????

    • Knife can be used to

      Cut fruits
      Chop vegetables
      Many other uses

Can I say in court like he was murdered with a apple cutter !!!

no u can’t replace apple cutter for word knife

Coming to ur example of dhoni –ur question is wrong

Wat kpsc says is– record stumper and fit player is called dhoni ??

Definitely not— this converse is not true

And one more example— every father is a male but every male need not be father

Thus u can’t say reverse logic and call observation satellite as mapping satellite !!!

      Reply
      • Just to be clear

Read again mapping is equated to observation

Thus application is equated to original

So application of dhoni is fit player and stumper

So using same logic we Shud say record stumper and fit player is called dhoni !!!

        Which is obviously not

        Reply
      • I agree with you
Reverse logic CANNOT be used every where and all the time.

But, it CAN be used on case to case basis on established facts.

        • suni, you have also seen venkat’s stand, the main argument is,satellites by itself cannot be earth mapping, the data sent by that satellite is used for mapping..
in paper ,statement was quoted like as if,satellite itself does that work of mapping,so as to call it as “earth mapping cartosat 2”
          is it true???
          absolutely no.
satellites provide the data.and that data is used for earth mapping and also for other technologies..so satellite cannot be called earth mapping satellite..it self cannot map the earth..
and coming to your logic of mAHENDRA SINGH DHONI,i was amused and awestruck by extraordinary sense of humorous logic.

          Reply
        • It’s an earth mapping satellite. Check isro web page.Cartosat-2 is an advanced remote sensing satellite capable of providing scene-specific spot imagery. The data from the satellite will be used for detailed mapping and other cartographic applications at cadastral level, urban and rural infrastructure development and management, as well as applications in Land Information System (LIS) and Geographical Information System (GIS).

          Reply
          • brother your data itself proves my point and even kpsc’s point.in the source you copy pasted, don’t you find that mapping is done by the data provided by cartosat ???.earth mapping is an application of cartosat series, but cartosat itself is not an earth mapping satellite.
and so what is cartosat??? cartosat is an earth observation satellite..hope it clear for all..dont understand why people willings raise unvalid objections??? or is it really that they are not able to comprehend the readings what is been on any of the sources..

          • Read wat you’ve only posted

it clearly says it’s remote sensing satellite and images are used for mapping

So it’s a earth observation satellite and not earth mapping satellite

Mapping is just a application and infact there are only observation satellite and no mapping satellite

            Key is perfectly fine

          • The main point here is there is nothing like earth mapping satellite. There are only earth observation satellites. Mapping is only of the features. Key is right in this regard.

          • I don’t understand what’s anushree problem. The meaning of carto itself means mapping. Please learn this. Y isro will keeps carto sat name and ask it to do some other things? Probably kpsc is gonna ask this in exams? Gather knowledge lady. Your understanding is totally wrong

          • daddaru yaru andre, nave antira, hogi degree matomme madi barri, illandre, english kalitukondu, objections file madi atleast..irony is people with your comprehension write kas and raise invalid objections and unnecesarily downgrade kpsc final keys and kpsc board..

          • I’ve told this to many already and explained this question along with delimitation question

            just scroll to previous posts

Pls don’t raise illogical objections and delay results further !!!

        • Irrespective of outcome of results,u need to compassionate and gentle.no person is born dadda or jana and life is bigger than KAS Exam and not at end.comments when made in public domain u need to be careful,u r aspirant for being a part of bureaucratic machinery,u have to be careful before u use words in public domain

          • yes ,that’s what i stand by..but without yourselves not being sure of what is right and wrong, and what is justifiable, how can you say that am going to directly raise objections calling KPSC??,before venting out any opinion why wouldn’t one be careful and cautious in rechecking what their stand would be ,and is it a rational argument and valid ??.without considering all these.they vent out their self confidence coated arguments and create chaos in a situation ,which is already unstable and unfair since many days..with the board going for many revision of keys, one should be gentle with opinions on final keys.and if is valid then go for objections, half baked judgements, will dent kpsc’s intellectuality among aspirants, which would raise demean the spirit of kpsc..by all these events,,and even more, dont you think people will also doubt kpsc mains evaluation in near future???definitely it will..btw i also agree that i was’nt polite at that reply of mine, and that was beacuse ,even after explaination given by me,few were like,,”your are still wrong and kpsc is also wrong”..so i made that reply.

Look at the irony….We are ok with the UPSC which never releases key answers n entertains any objections ..On the other hand we have our own KPSC which is trying it’s best to bring transparency in process is being cursed…at least kpsc is accepting it’s mistakes n rectifying it….keep calm and believe in KPSC….u ask seniors they will tell how the processes have been improved…TRUST in the System should never be lost…That too we are aspiring to become the part of the same system

    • Both are correct

For delimitation read question it says just Parliamentary seats so D Shud not be included

For satellite cartosat is a earth observation satellite and not mapping satellite— mapping is just application of it

        • Cartosat-2 is an Earth observation satellite in a sun-synchronous orbit and the second of the Cartosat series of satellites. The satellite was built, launched and maintained by the Indian Space Research Organisation. Weighing around 680 kg at launch, its applications will mainly be towards cartography in India. It was launched by the PSLV on 10 January 2007.

Cartography (from Greek χάρτης khartēs, “papyrus, sheet of paper, map”; and γράφειν graphein, “write”) is the study and practice of making maps. Combining science, aesthetics, and technique, cartography builds on the premise that reality can be modeled in ways that communicate spatial information effectively.
